I love Christmas themed books and I am thrilled to be taking part in the Random Things blog tour for One Last Gift by Emily Stone.
Cassie, her brother Tom and his best friend Sam have been inseparable for as long as she can remember. Tom is happy and always there for Cassie and Sam has achieved his dreams of becoming a lawyer. It seems like their paths are set out, but then tragedy strikes and the trio become two.
Cassie is devastated and finds it hard to move on, until one day she comes across an envelope addressed to her with clues to follow a trail to one last gift.
The trail soon takes Cassie on an adventure could never have foreseen and opens some unexpected doors.
The book takes place over a year and I love that it goes back into the characters lives as you feel like you get to know them very well.
This is a beautifully written book that is heartbreaking in parts and has some very funny moments too.
I read it in one sitting, as I didn’t want to put it down. I really liked the idea of an annual Christmas treasure hunt!

AOTD: We have a lot of traditions including putting the tree up on the first weekend of December, making Christmas pudding on stir up Sunday and choosing a new special decoration every year.
