Today I am taking part in the Random Things blog tour for
Tekebash and Sabah by Sabah Alemayah. I received a copy of this book as part of
the tour.
I have a cookbook obsession and it’s always exciting to learn
about a new area. The book is about Tigray, a country in North Africa. I
actually hadn’t heard much about Tigray before and was fascinated to learn
more.
The book is divided into different sections and as well as recipes
tells the authors history of how they left Tigray and moved to Melbourne. I
found his fascinating, I also enjoyed learning about how different foods were
eaten at different times of the year
I made the lasagne recipe - it was very easy to follow and was
delicious. I also tried the tomato salad called Timatim salata and we really
enjoyed it.
This is a fantastic book with recipes that are easy to follow. I
particularly liked learning about Tigray and its culinary history.
What is really nice is dipping in and out of this book and
reading about Tigrays culture and heritage. There are many more recipes in this
book that I plan to try.
I highly recommend this book and I also think that the cover is
stunning.
5 stars.
