Review of The Guernsey Girls by Mary Wood

I am delighted to be kicking off the blog tour for The Guernsey Girls by Mary Wood today.

It’s 1936 and Annie is a maid at Wallington Manor in Cornwall and is thrilled that after Christmas she will have a week off to visit her mum and sister in Bethnal Green.

She is asked to accompany Olivia, the niece of her employers who has travelled from the island of Guernsey. On the train the two girls get along well, but then a terrible accident happens and in a split second Annie risks her life for Olivia’s.

An unlikely friendship is struck afterwards that will serve them through tougher times, especially as the dark years of war loom on the horizon.

I am a big fan of Mary Wood’s books and loved being introduced to the characters of Annie and Olivia.

I am thrilled that this is the first in a new series and cannot wait to read the next book.

Thank you to Chloe at Panmacmillan for including me on the tour. Check out the banner to follow the other stops on the tour.
