When Maya’s dad is involved in a terrifying fishing accident during a storm , he decides it’s time for a change in lifestyle.
She is shocked when her parents tell her that she will be leaving her beloved home Penrose and relocating to a tropical island. Maya is worried about leaving her friends and her lovely seaside home where she spends her free time surfing.
However, when they move the island that seemed like paradise doesn’t mean that everything will change straight away. Can Maya find a way to bring her family home?
This is a fantastic and very powerful book that covers important issues. We thought Maya was a great character and were hoping that things would work out for her.
My daughter and I are looking forward to reading more books by Ele Fountain.
