Today is my stop on the Kaleidoscopic Tours blog tour for Birdie by J.P Rose.
Birdie Bagshaw has never met her family and spent her early years in a children’s home. However her great aunt traces her and requests that she moves to live with her in the Yorkshire Dales.
Instantly on arrival though, Birdie is treated by everyone as an outsider and is bullied at the local school.
Trying to hide from the bullies, Birdie accidentally gets lost in a coal mine. There she comes across a pit pony. She soon finds out that this is the last pit pony in the mine and he is all alone.
When Birdie finds out about the life of the put pony, she is determined to do something to help him and quickly forms a special bond.
This is such a beautiful story about friendship, hope and family. It is perfect for animal lovers and I loved reading about the relationship Birdie forms with the pony.
I look forward to reading more books by this author.
