I am delighted to be taking part on the Lost Property blog
tour.
Twelve years ago, a terrible event changed Dot’s life over
night and all of her dreams and plans fell apart and she left behind the life
in Paris that she had always hoped for. Since then, she has been held down by
guilt and works at the London Lost Property Office, where she loves helping to
reunite people with their belongings.
When elderly Mr Appleby arrives hoping to find his missing holdall
which contains his late wife’s purse, Dot is determined that she will be able
to reunite them and help his grief. However, this does not turn out to be a straightforward
as Dot hopes and soon she embarks on an adventure to track down Mr Appleby and
to find out about herself in the process.
This is a beautiful story of love, loss, hope and ultimately
forgiveness. I did not want to put this down and I was rooting for Dot the
whole time, she is such a wonderful character.
Lost Property is a real tearjerker that is dark in some
places, but at the same time there are some really hilarious laugh out loud
parts. I read this in only two sittings and I was completely fascinated by the
idea of the London Lost Property Office, as I had no idea that it existed.
I can’t wait to read more from this author.
