Review of The Rabbit Factor by Antti Tuomainen

I am really excited to be taking part in the blog tour for The Rabbit Factor today.

Henri Koskinen is an insurance mathematician and his life is planned like a spreadsheet. However, he has a rude awakening when on the same day, he loses his job and inherits his brothers adventure park (not an amusement park).

With the Adventure Park comes a host of unusual employees and an enormous amount of debt. It soon becomes apparent the Henri’s brothers' debt has arisen from some very dodgy loans, and the lenders are prepared to go to extreme lengths to get their money back.

All of this seems almost too much for Henri to take in, but then he meets Laura, an artist who also works at the Adventure Park. His life plan has certainly no.t allowed for love, but soon he is drawn to her creative personality and unusual lifestyle.

This book is dark, but hilarious in parts at the same time. The characters are so vividly drawn that you feel like you know them.

It is a very fast paced book and I didn’t want to put it down, actually I read it in two sittings just to find out what happened. You also can’t help feeling sorry for Henri when so many things in his previously orderly life seem to all go wrong at the same time.

I loved this book and I am so glad it is the first in a series. I can’t wait to read the next instalment.

5 stars

I received a copy of this book as part of the Random Things blog tour.
