Review of Smorgasbowl by Caryn Carruthers

I am thrilled to be taking part in the blog tour for Smorgasbowl today. I received a copy of this book as part of the tour.

I love cooking and I am quite obsessed with cookery books – I have a huge and ever-increasing collection of them, so I was really excited to review Smorgasbowl.

Smorgasbowl focuses on creating dishes that are simple and inspiring. Reading through this book, I was struck by how easy these recipes are to make and also how simple it is to adapt to your own dietary requirements.

I personally particularly like the way in which there is not much sugar included, as I am trying to cut down my sugar intake.

The book begins with an introduction and then explains the four pillars of a balanced somrgasbowl, which are Taste/Flavour, Nutrition, Texture and Temperature and goes om to give examples of these. I found this very helpful.

We tried the Summer Fruit Salad, which was perfect with the recent hot weather and I am looking forward to making the Banana-Tahini Chia Pudding, as this is something I have never made before.

Overall, this is a lovely book with some really inspiring recipes. I highly recommend it.
