Review of We Were Never Here by Andrea Bartz

I read this book as a buddy read with @matiminibooksreview. Thank you so much to MichaelJBooks for sending us a copy.

Emily and Kristen have been best friends since meeting at College. They are on the holiday of a lifetime in Chile and it’s the perfect catch up, but then on the last night Emily goes to their suite and finds it covered in blood.

Kristen claims that a backpacker she met in the bar attacked her and that she had no choice but to fight him off. What’s more, she needs Emily’s help to hide the body.

At the airport, they go their separate ways as Kristen has been living and working in Australia. However, when Kristen turns up out of the blue and starts acting strangely Emily is forced to ask herself if she really trusts her best friend.

This is such a nail biting read! I found the first half of the book went at a steady pace as you get to know Kristen and Emily, but the second half just sped by and I couldn’t put it down.

There are a lot of twists and moments of suspense in this storyline. If you enjoy psychological thrillers then this is definitely one for you.

4 stars.
