I love reading regency romance and was very excited to read Isabelle, as it is the first book I have read by Sophia Holloway.
Nineteen year old Isabelle Wareham has led a sheltered life caring for her beloved father. When he passes away, she finds herself in the care of her sister and brother in law Lord Dunsfold.
Then she meets former soldier, Lord Idsworth and the two strike up a friendship. However, her brother in law is determined to make a much more lucrative match for Isabelle and cares little for her feelings. It seems that happiness is just out of Isabelle’s reach.
I really enjoyed this book and thought that Isabelle made a great regency heroine. There were some funny parts too and I felt very invested in the story and read it in two sittings.
Highly recommended for regency fans.
