Review of People Change by Sara Jafari

Today I’m taking part in the blog tour for People Change by Sara Jafari. I received a proof copy of this book from the publisher.

When Shirin goes to a house party in Brixton she bumps into an old friend she hasn’t seen she was at school. You know straight away that something happened between them over ten years ago for them not to have been in touch since school.

Even thought things are unsaid between Shirin and Kian, a lot of chemistry still remains. The issue is that it’s now hard to avoid the things in their past that they wanted to leave behind.

As the book progresses you learn more about the back story between Shirin and Kian and how their lives have changed over the last ten years. Shirin should be living her dream working at a big London publisher and living in a flat in London, but things haven’t quite worked out the way she thought they would.

Can things really be different for them the second time around?

I felt so invested in the characters and how things would work out between Shirin and Kian.

This is a fantastic book that is full of emotion and very moving to read. It covers serious issues including racism, bullying, depression and anxiety.
