I am so excited to be taking part in the Random Things blog tour for Song of Silver, Flame Like Night by Amelie Wen Zhao. I received a copy of this book as part of the tour.
Lan was born with a different name, but since the Elantians took over the kingdom where she lived she was forced to change it, but she had not forgotten what life was like before. She now works as a song girl at night, but spends her days tracking down remnants of the past.
One thing she is desperate to find out is what the strange mark burned into her arm by her mother really means. No one except Lan can see this mark until one night when a boy called Zen appears at the tea house and saves Lan‘s life.
This is a story of secrets, legends and a fallen kingdom that one girl has the key to open the secrets and liberate her land.
I loved this book and was mesmerised from the beginning. It is a gripping read set in a magical land full of history and secrets waiting to be revealed.
I won’t give away any spoilers, but will say that it’s a real cliff hanger of an ending and I can’t wait to read the next instalment.
