I am thrilled to be taking part in the blog tour for Sidle Creek by Jolene McIlwain today.
This is a beautiful collection of short stories all set in Western Pennsylvania’s Appalachian hills.
It is a haunting and very moving collection of twenty two stories that takes place among the local community from diners and town halls to small farming towns.
I particularly liked the way in which the stories explore the power and beauty of nature and I felt like there is a dark and somewhat gothic element throughout the stories.
I would recommend this for fans of short story collections and literary fiction.
I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
