Review of The Legend of Childers Forest by Gillian Young

Today is my stop on the blog tour for The Legend of Childers Forest by Gillian Young.

Poppy and her sister Devon are golden retrievers who live with Jack and his family.

They are curious dogs and when a family of rabbits are forced from their home, they are determined to help.

However, their mission takes them to the ancient Childers Forest where strange magical things dating back to the time of King Charles II are said to have taken place.

There is said to be a magical white stag roaming the forest helping those in need. Most assume it is just legend, but when Jack is in trouble Poppy and Devon decide to do whatever they can to summon the stag for help.

I love golden retrievers, we used to have one. This is a lovely book that we would recommend for animal lovers. My daughter and I both read this and really enjoyed it.

We particularly liked the way that historical facts were included in the book and found it a magical read.
