Today is my stop on the Random Things blog tour for The Artists Secret by Alexandra Joel.

I really enjoyed reading Alexandra Joel’s books last year and have been looking forward to reading this one.

The book begins at the University of California in 1965 with a young couple who want to embrace a life free of materialism.

It then jumps to 1987 when we meet Wren Summers who is interviewing for her dream job as an assistant Art Curator at Sydney Art Museum.

Wren is desperate to leave her unconventional upbringing behind and throws herself into her new career. However, when a huge family secret is revealed Wren finds herself heading to New York to find the truth and discover the world of international art auctions.

This is a beautifully written and compelling read that is full of secrets and glamour. I loved every minute of this book and can’t wait to read more by this author.

Five stars
