Today is my stop on the Random Things blog tour for The Rabbits by AA Milne.
The Rabbits are a group of people including Archie Mannering and his sister Myra. Each chapter follows them at a different social occasion or just enjoying themselves. They were written and published before the First World War.
I was interested to see that this was originally written as a series of sketches for Punch between 1909 and 1914. You definitely feel like you are looking in on friends from a bygone and, seemingly more carefree, era.
I enjoyed their chatter and internal gossip and I liked reading these almost as individual short stories. As I mentioned in my previous review of The Complete Short Stories of AA Milne, I hadn’t read any books by this author before other than Winnie the Pooh.
