Today is my stop on the blog tour for How Not to be a Supermodel by Ruth Crilly.

In this memoir, Ruth Crilly takes us back a couple of decades to the noughties when she was just entering the world of modelling.

It’s a fun book and not one that gives a different side of modelling than we often read about in the press. I couldn’t stop laughing when Ruth described some of the situations that she found herself in.

I particularly enjoyed the parts about travelling before smartphones and going everywhere with a London A-Z. I remember this when I first moved to London after university and I was telling my nine year old daughter recently about travelling before we had maps on our phones.

I also found so many parts of Ruth’s childhood in the 80s and 90s completely relatable.

I absolutely loved this book, which had me laughing out loud in places- I think my favourite non fiction book of the year so far. I sat down to read the first chapter and needed up reading half of the book in one sitting.
