Review of The Party by Tessa Hadley

Today is my stop on the blog tour for The Party by Tessa Hadley.

In post war Bristol, sisters Moira and Evelyn go to a party at a pub in the docks. There they meet Paul and Sinden, neither of whom they are that keen on but something about them intrigues the sisters - especially Moira.

A couple of days later they agree to attend another party with these two and have their eyes opened to the world that they inhabit.

Over one night, in a new seemingly glamorous setting the sisters will learn more about one another than they expected.

This is a short book, but I flew through it and was fascinated by the descriptions of the post war era.

I look forward to reading more by Tessa Hadley.
