Review of Retreat to the Spanish Sun by Jo Thomas

I am so excited to be taking part in the Random Things tour for Retreat to the Spanish Sun by Jo Thomas. I received a copy of the book as part of the blog tour.

I am a huge fan of Jo Thomas and jumped at the chance to join the blog tour for her latest book.

Eliza is juggling studying and a full time job at home in her small flat when her three adult children decide to move back in and bring all of their problems, and lots of washing, with them. It gets so bad that she ends up taking work calls from her car as that is the only place she can get some peace and quiet.

Then, she sees an advert for a house sitter required in Spain and thinks that would be the perfect place to finish her college assignment. It should be a couple of weeks of solitude in the sun with good food and a lovely pool.

Little does she realise that accepting the job in Spain will take her to a beautiful Spanish finca, lead to new friendships, a mystery surrounding the resident pigs and a spot of romance.

This is a heart-warming read that has an irresistible combination of a sunny location, great food and drink, relatable characters and a mystery that needs to be solved.

This is such a perfect book to take on holiday or have for your summer reading -  it is pure escapism and made me feel like I had been to Spain and back.
