I am so excited to be taking part in the blog tour for The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels by Janice Hallett today.

The Alperton Angels were an infamous cult who who committed mass suicide after brainwashing a young girl and planning to murder her baby who they believed was the anti christ.

At least that is the official story that has been circulated for the last twenty years. Now journalist and true crime author Amanda Bailey is writing a book about the case and is determined to find the baby who would have recently turned 18. If she can get an interview this could turn her flagging career around.

The problem is that her rival, journalist Oliver Menzies, is also on the trail of the baby and determined to do anything to stop Amanda getting the story. As Amanda and Oliver try to track down the baby, they start to uncover new facts about the case, but as strange things start happening are they going against something much bigger and darker than they anticipated?

I loved the way that this book was written as a mixture of messages and transcripts. I found it addictive to read.

I think I spent about two thirds of the book not really liking Amanda, but really liked Ellie. The way that the book is written makes you feel like you know the characters really well.

This is a fantastic book full of twists that I couldn’t put down.
