Review of Clara and Olivia by Lucy Ashe

I am thrilled to be taking part in the blog tour for Clara and Olivia by Lucy Ashe. I received a proof copy of this book as part of the tour.

It’s 1933 and identical twins Clara and Olivia Marionetta are ballerinas at Sadlers Wells in London.

Olivia is a perfect ballerina, she is disciplined and dedicated to ballet. Clara, on the other hand, is also a beautiful dancer but she wants more than just ballet and longs for fame.

The twins are cast in Coppelia, but as they rehearse they get the eerie feeling like they are being watched.

Told from the alternating perspectives of Clara, Olivia, Samuel and Nathan this book lets you get to know all of the characters and see what happens when an infatuation turns to an obsession.

The author is a former ballerina and this beautifully written book that takes you into the heart of the world of ballet.

Clara and Olivia is a mesmerising and unputdownable book that will leave you wanting to look over your shoulder all of the time. It is a fantastic debut and I can’t wait to read Lucy Ashe’s next book.
