I am thrilled to be taking part in the Random Things blog tour for The Garnett Girls today. I received a copy of this book as part of the tour.

The Garnett Girls is a book full of family secrets and dynamics that centres around Sandcove, the old family home on the Isle of Wight.

Margo had a passionate relationship with Richard, the father of her three daughters but we know early on that Richard has not been in their lives for many years. This has had a dramatic effect on all of them and the book gives flashbacks into how Richard and Margo met and their early lives together.

In the present day, the three sisters Rachel, Imogen and Sasha are all battling issues of their own. Rachel and her husband Gabriel are now living at Sandcove, but Rachel misses her old life. Imogen has recently become engaged to William, but feels little excitement at the prospect and beautiful Sasha is stuck in an unhappy marriage.

As the novel progresses you realise that each character is still affected by Richard being missing from their lives and, like a puzzle, the pieces start to be put into place.

This is a beautifully written book about family dynamics, secrets and relationships.

I loved the setting of the Isle of Wight and I particularly liked the descriptions of Margo’s legendary parties!

The Garnett Girls is an amazing debut novel that sweeps you away into the lives of the Garnett family
