I am thrilled to be taking part in the Random Things blog tour for Go as a River today.

It’s 1948 and seventeen year old Victoria is helping to run her family’s peach farm in Iola, Colorado. When a stranger asks directions, little does she know that this chance meeting will change the course of her life forever.

This meeting will lead to Victoria leaving her only home and making the hardest decisions that she will ever have to make. Set against the vivid backdrop of rural Colorado, this is an unforgettable coming of age story.

Sometimes a book comes along and I know it will stay with me long after reading and I this is definitely one of those reads. This is a heart-breaking novel that addresses social injustices and racism, as well as a love story with a strong and unforgettable heroine.

Go as a River is a beautifully written book that is mesmerising to read. The descriptions of the landscape and the orchard make you feel like you’re there with the characters and the whole novel is alive with all of the sights, sounds and smells that Victoria encounters.

An absolutely amazing debut and I cannot wait to read more books by this author.
