I am really excited to be taking part in the Random Things blog tour for Henry VIII The Heart and the Crown by Alison Weir.

I am a huge fan of Alison Weir’s book and was really keen to read her latest one  which tells the story of Henry VIII from his perspective.

Here is the blurb:

A young boy grows up dreaming of knights and chivalry. Harry is the second son. He is never meant to rule.

But the death of his brother changes everything, and great destiny awaits this young prince. One day he will be the most infamous king in English history.

HENRY VIII. HIS STORY.

My thoughts:

I’ve always been fascinated by the Tudors and I’ve mainly read books about the six Queens, so it was different to read from this perspective.

This is a big book, but I sailed through and just love Alison Weir’s writing. You immediately feel like you are there with the characters and witnessing these momentous times in history.

I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it for fans of historical fiction.
