Review of The Christmas Appeal by Janice Hallett

I am really excited to be taking part in the Random Things blog tour for The Christmas Appeal by Janice Hallett today.

In The Christmas Appeal we are reunited with The Fairway Players who are busy rehearsing for their Christmas pantomime - Jack and the Bean Stalk. It’s hard work and they are determined to do a good show and raise funds for the church roof.

However, the cast are not all on the same side and there is a vying for top position between Sarah-Jane (who is chair) and the Halliday family.

As tensions increase, rivalry’s come to a head and there is bitterness when parts are allocated. However, when a body is found in the beanstalk the pantomime takes a dark turn. Who could it be and how long have they been there?

Find out as lawyers Femi and Charlotte pour over the Christmas round robins, group emails and text exchanges. Can they uncover the mystery?

This is quite a short book (just under 200 pages) and I read it in two sittings. I became so absorbed in the story and there are some very funny parts.

This is a fantastic book! I can’t wait to read Janice Hallett’s next book.
