Today is my stop on the blog tour for Mrs Sidhu’s Dead and Scone by Suk Pannu.

Mrs Sidhu is a caterer from Slough who likes to tackle crime between making different feasts.

However, her sleuthing skills have made her an outcast in her local community and when all of her work dried up, she was reduced to endlessly making aubergine bhajis for a chain of local shops.

Mrs Sidhu sees a way out when she is summoned to a local celebrity wellness retreat is a local Berkshire village. Cooking here would be a wonderful change. When one of the therapists is found murdered, Mrs Sidhu is thrilled to engage her detective skills and aid the local police.

However, another murder occurs and they seem to have a strange connection to the village fete. It seems that someone at the retreat might not be who they say they are.

This book had some very funny parts and I read it in two sittings. The characters are so vivid and I couldn’t put this down.

I highly recommend this, especially for fans of cosy crime. It's a fantastic debut novel and I can't wait to read more books by this author.

About the Author

Suk grew up along the M4, the draughty corridor that connects London to Slough. The son of immigrants, his upbringing was filled with discipline, love and aunties. At an early age, he got his head stuck into books and escaped into other worlds. He has long believed that one of his aunties would be the perfect crime solver.
