Review of Scarlet Town by Leonora Nattrass

Ad-pr

I am really excited to be taking part in the blog tour for Scarlet Town by Leonora Nattrass today.

I read Blue Water last year and loved it.

Laurence Jago, a disgraced former foreign office clerk and his employer Journalist William Philpott are back on English soil and return to Laurence’s hometown of Helston in Cornwall.

After their tumultuous escape from America, they think they may give them an opportunity for a rest, but alas that is not the case.

Soon, they see that opposite factions are fighting for an election and quickly Murder is feared when the elector Thomas Wedlock os killed.

Not long after a second death, Laurence is asked to investigate but what is he getting himself into and soon it is a family member whose life could hang in the balance.

This is a fast paced read full of suspicion and mystery in the eighteenth century. I loved every minute of it.

Highly recommended for fans of historical fiction.
