Review of Vet at the End of the Earth by Jonathan Hollins

Today is my stop on the Random Things blog tour for Vet at the End of the Earth by John Hollins.

Jonathan Hollins has been the resident vet in the South Atlantic islands since the early 2000s. Among his varied remit was caring for the worlds oldest land mammal - a 200 year old tortoise called Jonathan. It also encompasses moving a herd of reindeer, checking the fish and looking after more standard pets and army mascots.

I really enjoyed the way that the islands and their inhabitants (humans and animal) are vividly brought to life in this beautifully written book.

When I was younger I had a friend who had once lived on St Helena and I was always fascinated about her description of living on the island.

This is a fascinating book. I loved reading about all of the different animals and life in general on the islands.

The cover is gorgeous too!

I would recommend for animal lovers and anyone who enjoys travel writing. This book takes you on a journey to a different land and had me mesmerised the who way through.

Thank you to Random Things Tours for including me. Check out the banner below to follow the other stops on the tour.
