Today is my stop on the blog tour for The Fruit Cure by Jacqueline Alnes.
The Fruit Cure opens with the author detailing her college days as a Division one runner. From no where she started getting ill and a cough soon became episodes of collapsing and memory loss. The symptoms were terrifying, but no one had an answer of what the cause could be.
Desperate to get her old life back, Alnes found an online community which talked of the benefits of an all fruit diet. This community claimed that it could cure all kinds of health problems.
This is such a fascinating and terrifying read. I liked the way that it jumped back in time to detail how the diet came to be and the background to it. The book details Alnes’ own journey into the world of fruitarianism and the consequences for her.
Thank you to Melville house for sending me a copy to review.
