Review of The Sisterhood by Katherine Bradley

Today is my stop on the Random Things blog tour for The Sisterhood by Katherine Bradley.

The Sisterhood is a feminist retelling of George Orwell’s 1984.

In Oceania Big Brother is watching everything and no one can be trusted. Julia seems like the perfect Oceania woman, but she has a secret and it’s a secret that could get her killed. Julia is part of an underground movement called The Sisterhood, whose aim is to infiltrate members of The Brotherhood and have the regime overthrown.

When Julia meets Winston Smith, she thinks their goal might edge ever closer. However, secrets from her past threaten to come to the surface and the stakes get even more deadly ever before.

I found myself hooked by the pacing of this book. It’s a chilling, and at some points gory, portrayal of a terrifying world where everything you do is watched.

I highly recommend this for fans of dystopian fiction.

I love this cover!
