Today it's our stop on the Random Things blog tour for The Other Tenant by Lesley Kara.

*There are not many books which one closes on completion and breathes “wow” but this is one of those. Have you heard of Property Guardians, a group of people, who, as well as their day jobs, looks after empty or derelict buildings destined for redevelopment?

This is the story of one such organisation, Guardian Angels, and in particular one of its members, Marlow Cairns a photographer by day.

Marlow has been asked to join other guardians at short notice at McKinleys School for Girls  - once a desirable private school in London, now long empty with developer James Brampton wishing to protect his investment.  There are nine guardians in the school. Marlow makes ten as replacement for Hayley, who has disappeared without notice. Suspicion envelopes her sudden departure and Marlow, an inveterate puzzle-solver, is determined to find out the truth. None of her fellow guardians are aware that Marlow is an old girl of the school which, in fact, holds tragic memories for her. 6

Haunted by memories, Marlow is determined to solve Hayleys disappearance all conspire to regress Marlow to her years as a pupil and before long it appears that someone from the past knows who she really is!

We follow the chain of events mostly though Marlow`s words but make our own discoveries through the occasional voices of others in the group which heightens the tension throughout, leading to a shocking conclusion. Everyone has a secret.

Expertly written, the reader will not want to leave the pages until the end. Excellent read!
