Review of Four Seasons in Japan by Nick Bradley

Today is my stop on the Random Things blog tour for Four Seasons in Japan by Nicky Bradley.

Flo, an American living in Japan, is struggling and lacking confidence - both personally and professionally and her work as a translator has come to a halt. When she finds a mysterious book on the subway in Tokyo she is transfixed from the first page and knows that she must translate this novel. It’s called Sound of Water by Hibiki and she knows nothing else about it.

Sound of Water is the story of Ayako, a strict grandmother who runs a coffee shop in rural Japan. As Flo becomes engrossed in the book, the two stories start to be told side by side and Flo realised that she must find the author.

I loved this book and particularly liked the illustrations included. It’s a beautiful and very moving story about love and loss. I would love to visit Japan one day and was mesmerised by the descriptions of the scenery and the world around Flo.

This is such a gorgeous cover!

Thank you to Random Things Tours for including me. Check out the banner below to follow the other stops on the tour.
