Review of The Ghost Ship by Kate Mosse

I am so excited to be taking part in the Random Things blog tour for The Ghost Ship by Kate Mosse today.

I am a big fan of Kate Mosse and the Labyrinth trilogy is one of my favourite trilogies.

The Ghost Ship is the third book in the Joubert Chronicles following The Burning Chambers and The City of Tears.

If you have read the first two books in the series you will be reunited with many of the characters that we met before including Minou and Piet, but the main focus on this story is their Granddaughter Louise.

A mysterious ship, known only as the Ghost Ship, is tracking down pirates and liberating prisoners and is manned by a crew who are all trying to escape their own secrets.

When the Ghost Ship finds itself under attack those on board know that they must fight against their attackers for no one on board this ship is who they seem.

Can they escape or will they pay the ultimate price?

This is a sweeping story that takes you from Paris and Carcassonne in 1610 as Louise is about to turn 25 to Amsterdam the Canary Islands in the 1620s.

I absolutely loved this book. Kate Mosse has created another masterpiece that sweeps you away to a bygone time and I did not want this book to end. This is historical fiction at its best and highlights the struggles that women had face everyday in a man’s world.
