Review of The Black Loch by Peter May

Today is my stop on the blog tour for The Black Loch by Peter May.

When eighteen year old Caitlin is found dead on a beach by the black loch, the tight knit local community is shocked.

It emerges that she was having an affair with Fionlagh Macleod who is a teacher at the Nicholson institute where Caitlin was a student.

It turns out he is also the son of Detective Fin Macleod. Fin left the island over a decade earlier, but returns in a desperate attempt to help his son.

Despite the evidence against him, Fin will do what he can. However, the case soon takes him back on a journey to his own past and a terrible accident that occurred many years before.

I really enjoyed the setting of the Hebrides, which is somewhere I would like to visit.

This is a brilliant read that I did not want to put down. It is full of suspense, family secrets and set against the brooding dramatic landscape of the Hebrides.

I highly recommend for crime fiction fans.

Thank you to Ransom PR for sending me a copy.
